Famara is where almost every pilot on Lanzarote took their first flight: rolling hills above Teguise, with the Risco de Famara cliffs and the long golden sweep of Famara beach laid out in front of you.
Why fly here
- That view. The Risco de Famara runs along the horizon and the beach curls away beneath it. It's one of the most famous views on the island, and you get it from the air.
- Wind from any side. Variable winds and rolling slopes mean Famara often flies on days when other sites are still waiting on the weather.

What to expect on the day
Your pilot walks you through the launch on the hillside, you run a few steps into the wind, and the wing lifts you off the slope. Then it's Teguise, the cliffs and the beach, all spread out below you.
